Cobwebs, Cleaning, Advertising and the Net...

Such bold and fast movements in our society these days. It used to be that, as a company, you worked hard... put out a good product, placed an ad in the Yellow Pages and then managed your company.

In today's fast paced technological society; we are now tasked with not only working hard, putting out a good product, placing ads in multiple sources of media including print, and the internet. However, now as an added bonus we have the pleasure to work almost full time working on the internet ads.

We no longer have the Yellow Page companies to design the perfect ad. We no longer have these advertising company's reps as advocates for our business. No, we must now work constantly on internet ads that change from day to day and to whom large internet company's only care in the world is how many "clicks" my company generates.

They no longer truly care in my company progressing and prospering so that I might grow and purchase a bigger Yellow Page ad next year. No, the sole concern is how much I am willing to pay for the next person to click on my website and possibly call to make an appointment.

Meanwhile, as a company that prides itself on consistency and quality in the cleaning business, I am still tasked with letting my crews know to clean out the cobwebs in the corners of the rooms when they perform their General Cleaning Services. Reminding them to hit the light switch plates or areas that might not be noticed.

Add to these multifaceted problems we now must deal with the occasional dissatisfied customer whose sole desire is to spew venom about your company all over the internet.  The fact that that your company cleans hundreds of homes a week to satisfied customers takes a backseat to the negative comments on the internet of the one person that has never had their home professionally cleaned in their life. The one customer whose expectations are completely out of the realm of sanity. The customer that expects miracle workers to come into their home which hasn't been cleaned in years and within one hour perform that miracle. Then, when that miracle is not completed within the one hour time frame that same person berates you all over the internet!

Meanwhile, the other 100's of satisfied customer's, don't ever even fathom to write a positive review for you  over the internet because they are happy! AHHHHH..... At times, this can be disheartening!

However, I don't let all the negativity bring me down. I fight on. I love my employees. I love my company. I take pride in the work we perform. I know that our company serves a noble purpose. I know that so many people enjoy a sense of calm and positivity from the work that we perform. I know that I am a fighter and I will change and adapt and move forward. I know that our company blows away the competition. I know that we work our butts off and I know that in the end....

Our strengths overwhelmingly outweigh our flaws!  And not to sound too sappy, but as I stated previously...our cause is noble.
